What Are Facebook Reels?
Facebook Reels are short-form videos, usually between 15 and 90 seconds long, designed for quick entertainment. These vertical videos appear in your News Feed, on the Reels tab, and sometimes in Stories. Creators use Reels to share video clips with music, effects, and text overlays — similar to what you might see on TikTok or Instagram Reels.
The problem is that Facebook doesn't offer a built-in way to download Reels videos to your device. You can share them or save them within the app, but there's no "download" button. That's where iLoveF comes in — it lets you save any public Reel video as an MP4 file that you can watch anytime, even offline.
Whether you want to keep a funny video, save a recipe tutorial video, or archive a video clip for personal reference, iLoveF makes it simple. No accounts to create, no software to install, no hidden fees.
How to Download a Facebook Reel
The process takes about 30 seconds. Here's what you need to do:
Step 1: Find the Reel and copy its link
Open the Reel you want to save on Facebook. Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) or the share button, then select "Copy link." On desktop, you can also copy the URL directly from your browser's address bar.
Step 2: Paste the link on iLoveF
Come back to this page and paste the copied link into the input box above. You can use the "Paste" button or press Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on Mac). Then click "Download" to start processing.
Step 3: Choose your quality and save
After a few seconds, you'll see a table with available qualities — typically SD (480p) and HD (720p or 1080p). Click "Download" next to the quality you prefer. If a quality shows "Render" instead, click it and wait briefly while we prepare the file, then download it.
Video Quality and Format
The quality options you see depend on the original Reel. If the creator uploaded it in HD, you'll get HD as an option. Most Reels are available in at least two qualities:
- SD (Standard Definition) — smaller file size, good for saving mobile data
- HD (High Definition, 720p–1080p) — sharper video, better for larger screens
- Some Reels may also have audio-only (MP3) options for extracting music or voiceovers
All downloads are saved as MP4 files, which work on virtually every device and media player — iPhones, Android phones, iPads, Windows PCs, and Macs included.
Works on Every Device
iLoveF is a web-based tool, so there's nothing to install. It works in any modern browser:
- iPhone and iPad — use Safari or Chrome
- Android phones and tablets — use Chrome, Firefox, or Samsung Internet
- Windows and Mac — any desktop browser works
- Chromebook — fully supported through the built-in Chrome browser
On mobile devices, the downloaded file is usually saved to your Downloads folder or your Photos library, depending on your browser settings. If you can't find a downloaded file, check your browser's download history.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this tool really free?
Yes, completely free. There are no hidden charges, no premium tiers, and no limits on how many Reels you can download.
Do I need a Facebook account?
No. iLoveF works with any publicly available Reel. You just need the link. However, if a Reel is from a private account or restricted group, it may not be downloadable.
Can I download Reels on my iPhone?
Yes. Open this page in Safari, paste the Reel link, and download. The file will appear in your Files app under Downloads, or you can save it directly to your Camera Roll.
Why does some quality show "Render" instead of "Download"?
Some video qualities aren't directly available as files — they need to be assembled (rendered) first. Click "Render," wait a few seconds, and then a download link will appear.
Can I save just the audio from a Reel?
Yes. After processing, you'll see an MP3 section below the video options. Pick the bitrate you prefer and download the audio file.
Is it legal to download Facebook Reels?
Downloading publicly shared content for personal offline viewing is generally acceptable. However, you should never re-upload, redistribute, or use someone else's content commercially without their permission. Always respect the original creator's rights.
The download isn't working — what should I do?
First, make sure the link you copied is correct and the Reel is publicly accessible. If the issue persists, try using a different browser or clearing your cache. Some Reels may also have been deleted or restricted by the creator.
Does iLoveF store my data?
No. We don't save the URLs you submit, we don't track your download history, and we don't require any personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
